WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

  1. A small sample of blood is extracted from the client’s arm (approx 10mls).
  2. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge for a few minutes and spun at high speed.
  3. A sterile syringe is used to withdraw only the PRP (platelet rich plasma) from the sample4.
  4. The PRP is injected into the problem areas of the skin and surrounding cells reproduce.

The whole procedure only involves needle injections to the desired areas, requires virtually no healing time and also reduces possible side effects to a minimum. The procedure usually takes less than an hour and clients can go home or to work following treatment

DOES PRP HURT?

A very mild stinging sensation may be felt. There is some minor discomfort when the injections into the  scalp are made but these are done with a very fine needle to minimise any pain.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS AND COMPLICATIONS?

All non-invasive treatments carry a small element of risk, which is why at Prity Salon we only carry out treatments after a face to face consultation, during which we will assess you, and detail the cautions and contradictions for the procedure.

IS PRP TREATMENT SAFE?

PRP treatment is a safe, effective alternative for people seeking natural healing without the use of surgery or medications. Because PRP is made from a person’s own blood there is no chance of allergic, hypersensitivity, or foreign-body reactions. An FDA-approved, closed sterile system is used throughout the procedure to prevent infection. A brief period of inflammation/redness at the site of application is normal and expected. There is little to no downtime following most PRP procedures and recovery time is significantly less than with surgery. PRP permits the body to take advantage of the normal healing pathways at a greatly accelerated rate.

HOW QUICKLY DOES IT WORK?

The procedure takes less than one hour and has minimal to no downtime and the healing process is gradual and can take up to 8-12 weeks to see desired results.

DOES THE PROCEDURE NEED TO BE REPEATED?

Depending on the area treated, repeat treatments may be necessary to continue the desired effects. Hair rejuvenation with PRP should be repeated six months to continue new hair follicle growth.

WHY USE PRP TREATMENTS?

Platelet rich plasma injections are an alternative to medications or surgery. Ideal candidates would be those who prefer a less invasive option to surgery or those who are unable to undergo a surgery or tolerate pain medication. It allows for a much quicker recovery period and is much less painful than a surgery.

Common side effects may include mild swelling, redness, or discomfort at the injection site, but these usually subside within a few days.

Hair growth results can vary, but some people start to notice improvements after a few months of treatment. Full results may take several months to a year.

PRP therapy can provide temporary improvements in hair growth. To maintain results, ongoing maintenance sessions may be needed.
